Our founder, Jane Moss Livsey, graduated from the University of Florida in April of 2017. Her father, John Moss, who passed away in 2016, was her inspiration for starting Women’s Empowerment Services of Northeast Florida (WESNEF).  He taught Jane and her older sister the importance of an education and encouraged them to be strong, independent, self-reliant women.

Her previous work as an intern with the Women’s Center of Jacksonville’s Expanded Horizons Literacy Program gave her experience with GED preparation services. Through her work there she also saw a need for assisting women in all aspects of life.

Our co-founder, Theresa Hossler Brown, is Jane’s mother. She is a survivor of domestic violence and has worked for the State of Florida’s Department of Children and Families. She is well-versed on state programs. She has served women in different roles throughout her life by directing women to available resources tailored to their needs.
